A couple of weeks ago Drowners played a small, intimate gig at ‘MAZE’ in Berlin. The Welsh-American indie four-piece kicked the show off with ‘Troublemaker’ off their newest LP ‘On Desire’, which perfectly captures the mood of the new record. Singer Matt Hitt recognised a group of girls in the front from previous gigs and had a chat with the audience, which was cheering loudly when they played the first notes of ‘Long Hair’. I don’t think there was anyone in the room who didn’t scream along as loud as they could.

Drowners never fail to create a certain atmosphere that makes you wish you would live in a tiny flat in a dodgy area of New York with someone like Alexa Chung.

During their last song of the night ‘Bar Chat’ frontman Matt Hitt started shaking people’s hands, making everyone feel appreciated and more than happy to be there. What a great way to end the show!
